Agokil (Ag-oh-KILL)
Agokil is the in-world version of sulfur, and in particular a crucial ingredient of the now-outlawed Enstreng. Culturally it is regarded with wariness by many due to its mining sources being remote, dangerous, and "demonic" locations (in actuality, many of these were Eisorcei clutches).
Properties
Material Characteristics
Semi-soft, powdery/chalky mineral that builds into tiny to child-sized deposits underground (but sometimes visible at the surface, for example, in caves).
Physical & Chemical Properties
When used in Enstreng, acts as a mineral fuel for the reaction.
Geology & Geography
Commonly discovered during other mining ventures, or exposed in cave systems. Balaqalneyis was an initially prominent source via Eisorcei clutches, but small sources have been found in remote locations of Ustraria and throughout Iyr and Seyis-Gol.
History & Usage
History
Sourcing agokil and general lack of understanding contributed to significant pushback from skeptics and religious bodies (coinciding in general with the distaste for Enstreng, agokil's primary end-use). When enstreng and firearms were outlawed, use of agokil declined.
