Crealoth (KREE-uh-loth)

Crealoths -- regarded as monsters by most -- are in effect a sub-species of nae'cthosai. These occasionally arise when a nae'cthosai, at the end of their humanoid life, becomes a crealoth instead of a tree, or a tree will re-humanize as a crealoth. Though it is not scientifically understood why this happens and appears to be random, common belief is that it happens to those that were sinful in life or who otherwise did not adhere to nae'cthosai ways; reasoning often used to scare children.   As creatures, they appear vaguely humanoid with an exaggeration of the Marks of Ctho they possessed in life, but with a loss of personality and a penchant for cruelty, violence, and predatory behavior.

Basic Information

Genetics and Reproduction

It is assumed but not confirmed that crealoth are sterile, and that their numbers only increase at random post-humously.

Growth Rate & Stages

There do not appear to be any obvious signs of growth after the crealoth is initially 'born'.

Ecology and Habitats

Most crealoth have been observed as solitary creatures living not far from where their nae'cthosai bodies were laid/came to rest, such as an ajeabis.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They are assumed to be solely carnivorous.
