Portal-Gate

Portal-gates are a rare and valuable esoteric technology created by warlocks in the surge of shadow-work activity during the War of the Six, with the crucial assistance of Xa'aroch. All known examples and plans were destroyed as part of the Inebi Armistice and the Banishing.   They were primarily used to facilitate one-way travel by Azgorach from Azgorach, but experiments were being conducted on prototypes that facilitated quick travel in Icalar itself, as well as potential travel to Azgorach and its use by non-Azgorach beings.   In its most basic form it exists as a half-circle resting on a stand on the ground when inactive. When activated by an Azgorach (or a warlock by proxy) through physical contact, the frame separates into pieces that form a broken full circle connected by strands of Ega. Touching specific places on the frame dictates the destination. The frame is lightweight and moveable, if awkward to do so.   All known examples during the war only allowed travel by Azgorach, and their breath had to be held the entirety of the journey.
