Wadaloush (Wah-dah-LOOSH)
Wadaloush is a low-growing, deciduous perennial, leafy groundcover that prefers moist environments. It produces tiny quatrefoil-shaped yellow-eyed blue flowers and reproduces via rhyzomes. It is described as having a 'sweet musk'.
Of most interest, however, is the leaf -- when chewed, it has significant nerve-calming properties. This has proved valuable in everyday medicine but also high-stress fields such as during war, and as such it is a valuable crop. Communities from the southern delta regions, such as the erstwhile Gild Whitewell, are usually the primary exporters upriver.
