Captain Lampert

The owner/captain of The Miranda (which is a fairly rare combination).  He operates generally on the edges of Commonwealth sea lanes and legalities, however he does so out of necessity and desperation more than he does a lack of moral fiber.  Considering the stereotypes, he and his crew are actually not all that bad people, for the most part they are just very down on their luck, or even trying to get out of the shadier game, and back into the light.  No small-folk on the craft though, because that is just asking for too much trouble.  Lampert himself has a bit of education, and USED to have a bit of money (that's how he got his own ship, after all).  Now all he has is aspirations and debts.

Back towards the start of Stephano's dissertation, there was an...incident.  Well, there were many incidents in those years, but this one in particular ended up with Lampert going from being whatever he used to be to dirt poor, the owner of a new ship, and SEVERELY in debt to one Stefano Gorbalienko.   And I think that is really all that needs to be written or developed about that for now.  I could force it, but I am sure that some actually good idea will come to me eventually, and if not, well, its supposed to remain mysterious anyways.
