Granite Rhufbar III
King Rhufbar
This is the tentative name of the "king" of Ayn. While he is descended directly from the last to rule as king of the region in truth (and nobody has come in and fully conquered the area since that kingdom declined and forced him to change the title) his domain only stretches about a day's ride from the city walls in any given direction. He is a decent ruler, without too many deficiencies that are too glaring to his subjects. He's ambitious, of course, but most of his ambitions are in the realm of politics rather than on the battlefield. Perhaps one of his largest flaws as a ruler is his disinterest in the arcane. He views it as a dangerous distraction, which it has been to some of his more maligned ancestors, and so attempts to ignore it entirely. This is at times a rather glaring mistake, due to the now defunct connection to The Libraries found within his city, and leads to rather relations with his local representatives of International Magicians' Consortium.
