Ar-Ruk

Ar-Ruk is a ruined voor settlement discovered on the planet of New Warsaw. It is located on the planet's northern hemisphere in one of the few places free of the New Warsaw's hogweed. Archaeologists theorize that it was a metropolis and maybe even the capital of the voor colony on the planet. Currently, the works are conducted in an area that seems to be the government district.

The first structure we discovered in Ar-Ruk were the ruins of a tall spire-like building. Inside, we found one still working computer terminal. How it still had power is a mystery to this day. Thanks to the knowledge of our elam friends we were able to translated some of the information on the computer. We discovered the city's name as well as the last log of the voor governor. It spoke of a cataclysm that was destroying the planet.

Defences

According to the last log of the voor governor as well as based on the uncovered remains the researchers speculate that Ar-Ruk was defended by at least 10 000 soldiers equipped with armoured vehicles and supported by artillery and aircraft. Additionally, it seems that the city had a number of ground to space cannons. Earth Space Command invested in its own research teams to analyze the remains of the cannons. They hope to find out how they operated and use that information to improve the failed design of a human ground to space cannon.

History

Currently, the only period of Ar-Ruk's history that is known to the Humans is its destruction. All known information comes from the last log of the voor governor.

It's been 24 hours since we've lost contact with High Command. An hour ago, the commanding officer of our defence fleet has informed me that his ships are overwhelmed and they need to escape. The cannons are now the only things that stand between us and the cataclysm

The last log of the voor governor describes the final hours of Ar-Ruk and other voor settlements on the planet. It speaks of an unstoppale cataclysm that was killing everything its path. Some of the images that the archaeologists were able to recover are very disturbing. They saw giant insectoid creatures ravaging the settlements and leaving only wasteland.
