Biology:
Evolving underground to shield from the intense solar rays that blast the moon of Zerilia, Cregzoids are well suited to navigating tight spaces and caverns from which their society was founded. While capable of bipedalism, they can crawl on all fours with great speed, using their large prehensile tails to perform acts of balance and manipulation when their other appendages are indisposed. Due to their environment, their eyesight is exceptionally sharp, able to see in total darkness while also retaining the ability to perceive objects in lit areas, though at greatly reduced visibility. The Cregzoid tongue is forked into two, independent ends which assist in detecting scents in the air which they use to hunt and consume the large grubs that skitter within their underground home. As a result of intense selective breeding by their Saithari overlords, the Cregzoids of the present are incredibly vicious and cruel as opposed to their ancestors pacifist ways.
Cregzoids mate for life, and typically produce 6-12 eggs in one clutch, whom they rear together.
History:
Evolving separately from their Saithari neighbours on the moon Zerilia, originally the Cregzoids were a social and peaceful society who lived in harmony underground as a unified and compassionate people. Constructing vast underground cities of beautiful architecture and history. After learning how to farm the grubs of their deep caverns, they quickly ascended through technological development and were in the early stages of space travel when they encountered their neighbours, the Saithari.
Perhaps jealous of the Cregzoids incredibly rich society, or irritated by their peaceful ways, the Saithari convinced the Cregzoids that they would better thrive under their protection from the potentially hostile elements of the greater galaxy, offering technology and the opportunity to venture into the galaxy themselves. Not knowing any better and too trusting of their new compatriots, the Cregzoids accepted, with many settling on Misario to begin new lives.
The Saithari, while staying true to their promise of protection, relegated the Cregzoids to second-class citizens, forcing them into jobs and roles ''not suited for Saithari superiority'' such as mundane maintenance tasks and labouring. Over time, these Cregzoids were further subjugated as their eggs were selectively injected and tested to further alter the species, particularly in areas such as their cruelty and obedience, and within several generations, the new Cregzoids had morphed into twisted perversions of their once proud kind.
In the present, the Cregzoids are wholly subservient to the Saithari, ensuring their world is run smoothly while the snakes often go hunting for more slaves to sell. Those who show promise or ''talents'' from within the Cregzoid ranks are allowed special permits to become slave trainers and security on the planet.
