A large repti-mammalian species native to the world of Vorg
Biology:
The Dinqraik is one of the apex species on the world of Vorg, it's large size at around 10ft in length, and venmous bite make it capable of warding off most predators in it's territory. The Dinqraik possess four front limbs and two hind limbs each equipped with a set of sharp iron infused claws from which it creates nests and lairs to rear it's young. It's teeth are hollow, containing a powerful neurotoxin that can paralyze most creatures, often proving fatal without proper medical care while it's tongue is extremely adhesive, suitable for catching the fish it primarily subsists on. The most unique trait of the Dinqraik is it's ability to synthesise and form near spherical balls of pure gold. These golden ''eggs'' are actually a by-product of the fish that the Dinqraik lives off, who's blood contains high amounts of gold that build up in the stomach of the Dinqraik. In order to expel these excess minerals, the Dinqraik has special pores known as ''Nerems'' that collect the small gold particles which are then stored across it's face a body. These golden spots are used to signify the age of a Dinqraik, along with help in reproductive chances. However, these large gold deposits found on the Dinqraik make them especially vulnerable to brave poachers.
Being mostly a Piscivore, Dinqraiks spend their days prowling ponds and rivers in search of fish, using their long snouts and sticky tongues to lure in potential meals before devouring them whole, as such natural attacks from a Dinqraik is rare, so long as one stays out of it's territory.
As a solitary creature, Dinqraiks only mate once per year, the females creating lairs in which to lay their eggs from which their pups spawn. These pups are reared off their mothers milk for around 4 months, growing exceptionally large in that time before venturing out to establish their own fishing grounds until the next mating congregation occurs.
History:
Dinqraiks are an important part of Vorgaxian culture, revered for their tenacity and prowess. As such, young Vorgaxian will sometimes prove their worth to their people by hunting these creatures, returning with the beasts golden egg as a sign they have prevailed, though very few ever return from such a challenge.
