Lurkers

Biology:   As a largely undocumented and mysterious race, Lurkers inhabit deep caves and hazardous ruins out within tomb worlds and other barren or otherwise ''abandoned'' planets. They're natural aversion to light in any capacity has only allowed from limited interactions with these strange creatures, though from several accounts they are described as grotesque, tentacled monstrosities with abnormally large brains, a hiss/clicking form of communication and that they work in packs, the largest on record being a den of Lurkers numbering 50+ on the world of Omukra. What is known is that certain pheromones, typically from species in oestrus can attract Lurkers, perhaps an instinctual drive, Lurkers will often attempt to forcefully mate with those who venture into their domains.   History:   With little information on the Lurkers, much knowledge regarding their behaviours and biology is left to speculation. What is known is that these creatures seem to inhabit and even thrive on uninhabited or otherwise hostile worlds found throughout the cosmos. How Lurkers have been able to migrate and seemingly appear on worlds, even those with no atmospheres have stumped scientists for centuries. Extremely aggressive, most censuses advise for a shoot on sight policy when encountering Lurkers, although bright lights can also serve as a way to keep them at bay, although this is not always reliable.
