Prag'narns

Prag'narns are a mysterious precursor species hailing from the Unknown Sector and are generally considered myths or boogeymen in much of the galaxy.   Biology:   Little is known about the biological make up of Prag'narns given their very limited interaction with the galaxy and rapidly degrading corpses, not one faction or institution has been able to study these beings for any longer than a few minutes do to their peculiar ability to seemingly disintergrate their own corposes in a matter of moments. What is understood comes from second-hand information and nonsensical ramblings from some known Prag'narn survivors. These diminutive beings, often seen on floating hoverchairs, speak in an unknown clicking dialect, they can converse in other languages, albeit with some difficulty and aren't particularly hardy when engaged in physical combat.   History:   Less is known about the history of the Prag'narns, the first official records of their appearance date from the year 2231 when a merchant vessel spotted a floating orb like ship that seemingly materialised and dissipated in a matter of moments. Since then, only a few dozen instances of contact with the Prag'narns have appeared in official databases, often for brief moments during routine patrols by fleets who are sometimes dismissed as hallucinations from long space hauls. However, the Pragnarns are very real, they have been linked to various mysterious disappearances of other species, ranging from lone individuals to entire towns. From the few records and eye witness reports, the Prag'narns use strange technologies unlike anything known in the galaxy to abduct and teleport their targets in mere seconds, leaving behind only trailing mists in their wake. From the few survivors who claim to have escaped the Prag'narns, they are often inconsolable and insane, rambling about experiments, dimensional creatures and an otherworldly Cult. Through these survivors, scientists and researchers have been led to believe the Prag'narns worship or follow a mysterious being known as ''Xitan'' thus dubbing their movement as the Cult of Xitan, though their motivations are still unclear.   Recent breakthroughs about the Prag'narns has shed some light on these creatures, they were recently combated on the outskirts of Coaliton space before quickly retreating, allowing the collection of several corpses that, while rapidly degrading, confirmed their existence and from several the archaeological excavations undergone, signs point to them being present in the galaxy for at least 20 million years. Some further proof of the Prag'narn's meddling in the galaxy comes for their manipulation on lower lifeforms on various worlds, confirming they had a hand in the creation of the Fomuxins and Kikamaxi with rumours pointing to their hand in creating the Abutans, Locarans and Lurkers, though this remains to be seen.   On some worlds which still believe them as myths, parents use the Prag'narns to scare their children into brushing their Ouki's or cleaning their rooms, warning that the Prag'narns may abduct them if they don't.
