The Praxcks are a bipedal reptilian species found in Yakana space. Their most distinctive physical features are their thick tails, spiky teeth, the two horns that protrude from the back of their heads and their tough, scaly skin. They have a shorter stature than many other aliens, with average heights ranging form 3 ft to 4 ft.
The Praxcks have been a space faring species for over 500 years and are an established member of the galactic population. They are a social culture and almost always travel in groups; it is rare to spot a Praxcks by himself. They lack much in the way of manners, honour, etiquette, politeness, general social decency and have a reputation for causing mischief and getting into trouble.
They are also an aggressive race who show little in the way of fear or self-preservation. They live for the thrill of adventure just as much as they do for obtaining credits.
They are typically found in large Praxcks pirate fleets, as raiders, or as hired guns. Notorious for attacking trade routes with reckless abandonment and a ‘shoot first, ask questions later’ attitude that they display in their everyday lives also. Praxcks soldiers often make up the first wave of Yakana forces during an assault.
Those not brandishing firearms can often be found fixing mechanisms.
Coming from a scarce desert homeworld, the Praxcks have learned to be resourceful, constructing their starships from whatever scraps are available. Praxcks engineers are sought after workers in scrapyards, space repair stations, construction docks and as onboard maintenance workers on vessels due to their knack for getting the job done at a fraction of the cost of other species. They also benefit from having a reduced upkeep expense, since they are small, tough, rugged, content with just the essentials and aren’t known to have the best hygiene or demands for cleanliness.
Praxcks contractor companies are a big revenue generator for the Yakana in the United Coalition and Ratrizar Empire - where bribery can be more difficult - as important legal sources of income.
Praxcks are also great scouts and adventurers, given their thirst for new experiences and lack of fear, as well as their resilient physiology. The dry deserts of their home favour the survival of those that hold onto their internal energy supplies the best. As such, evolution has given them the ability to function perfectly fine for days without food or water.
If someone posts a job to explore some uncharted planet or moon, or scout out an asteroid for mining opportunities, Praxcks vessels will typically be clamouring to get the contract first.
The Praxcks’ aggressive and restless nature gives them a ravenous sexual appetite and often have numerous sex slaves aboard their ships to relieve themselves when feeling pent up. They have a particular fondness for humanoid women from species larger than their own.
