Death Blossoms
Death Blossoms are a type of sentient carnivorous plant which inhabit Pluarsh ec Relovut, they are considered one of the many defenses that the swamp has to offer anyone inhabiting its center.
They were first encountered by the Spiritual Travelers on Nurend 16, 308 while they were escaping Thera Relovut and traversing the massive swamp around it. Their first experience with these plants was while pushing their raft down the flooded swampland as the vines flipped their vehicle over and attempted to pull them into the forest. These vines were capable of quickly wrapping around several of the members of this group, but their teamwork saved anyone initially affected. Hysteria, however, was grabbed while saving Namina and was quickly dragged into the forest with Namina holding onto them.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Death Blossoms initially appear to be ordinary flowers with, albeit unusual, strong prehensile vines. Their flower buds have a mid, foresty green exterior with lighter, almost spearmint green, stripes. The smaller blossoms are about 5 feet long and 2.5 feet wide while the larger, possibly queen, blossom is much larger approaching 15 feet long and 7.5 feet wide when unbloomed.
As the Spiritual Travelers were being dragged into the Death Blossom Lair they were able to witness the flowers bloom. The interior seemed like a normal flower at first with soft pinkish-red interior, however, as it continued blooming, several rows of sharp teeth were eventually revealed. At the center of the flower, where one would normally find flower reproductive information, there is instead a blue tongue and vacant space likely leading to a sort of plant throat suggesting it has evolved to the point beyond regular carnivorous plants. Indeed, the presence of a tongue suggests it even has taste preferences, or, at the very least, the ability to distinguish between edible and inedible food through taste.
Somewhere within this flower there are glands capable of producing different acidic components. One of these was utilized against Namina, though it is still unclear what this will do.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Death Blossoms, as evidenced by the existence of teeth, tongues and mouths, are carnivorous plants. Normally carnivorous plants just feed on insects and other small creatures by dissolving them in special acids found in the plant. These, however, seem to have the ability to actually chew through meat suggesting that they might prefer a larger prey.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
These flowers are evidently capable of some form of sight despite the complete absence of any eyes. It could be assumed that they have an amount of extrasensory capability such as psychic powers or perhaps sensing vibrations in the ground through their roots or vines.
This vibrational sense is so tuned in that it was able to spot where Namina landed as it spat some glob of flower stuff at her.
