Mysterious Journal
This mysterious journal is a collection of diary entries written in Elvish discovered by the Spiritual Travelers in The Prison Beneath Thera Relovut on Nurend 15, 308.
The entries are all from the perspective of an Elf leading a mission to build a city inside the Spirit World capable of traversing all realms. Initial tests were done between the material plane, Taranel, and the Spirit World, The Gates. These tests successfully transported a building along with several Elves into the Spirit World, but when they tried to return the citizens were apparently "different" and the buildings were warped. Because of this, a more stable building material would be needed. Something designed to make breaches between worlds, a material that is apparently abundant in the Spirit World as evidenced by its many "Gates".
The dates use a different system than the modern Taranel Calendar, and instead utilizes the less used Elven Calendar.
When the journal was first found, Namina was the one to skim through it and found some entries of interest. “In our pursuit of knowledge we were blinded, and the enemies we faced were both unknown and unknowable.” (03 Smrtdva 458) “Retreat only meant we knew of them…and that seemed to be more damning than any battle.” (24 Smrtdva 458) “I think we lost a lot of good men and women today, though their names or who they were are now a mystery to us, I have a feeling that someone is missing.” (17 Koniecjen 458) “We have plans to abandon the project, our brothers and sisters to the north will report their progress, and I’m sure they have been far more successful, but I won’t risk the lives of any more of my people. She and He will just have to deal with that…and I will take the blame.” (33 Začaťjen 459)
Namina attempted to find more information about the "project" mentioned in the last entry she read. Searching the journal, she found this information: “Hers and His plan is to build a mobile base…not one that traverses the lands of our home, or even the lands of our enemies, but one that can phase between planes of existence. Traveling to the land of the gods and back on a whim and taking hundreds or thousands of people with us. To interact with the fae more freely, to discover new resources and be with the spirits. What’s more, to have a city at our disposal… it would be miraculous should it work.” (03 Smrtdva 457) “Bogdan has finished the runes on one of our test buildings, and it has successfully made it to the land of the fae without issue. The journey back, however, left the construct warped beyond recognition. Additionally, any of the surviving brethren are…um, different. We’ll need to run more tests, and I feel we may need to actually build them in the other world, perhaps with a particular type of stone, something more stable and designed to breach worlds.” (16 Rastdva 458)
