Ohrsecte, The Beetle King
Ohrsecte, also known as The Beetle King, is a Beetlefolk with the appearance of a Batus barbicornis. He is the leader of all Beetlefolk and currently resides in The Lost Oasis. Citizens of The Lost Oasis may not necessarily be Beetlefolk, but they do still consider Ohrsecte to be their leader as well.
He was first seen by the Spiritual Travelers on Daulok 22, 308 (Rotting Gate Time), after they arrived in a pit near The Lost Oasis. He announced his presence in the middle of the town along with a strange request. "Calling all volunteers! The Great Mystery has been lit once again!”
Physical Description
Body Features
As a sort of Batus barbicornis Beetlefolk, Ohrsecte has gold and black coloring in a striped/diamond pattern. His antennae are quite long, measuring twice the length of his body and with similar black/gold coloring.
Apparel & Accessories
Ohrsecte wears a slightly more pompous or frilly form of the usual clothing found on Beetlefolk. Proud of his coloration, he keeps most of his exoskeleton on full display with a garment that covers only small portions of himself. A half cape hangs over his left shoulder and covers just a quarter of his left wing and upper left arm.
A sash with a beeded back-end loosely hangs over his chest, and a sort of half-skirt covers a small portion of his right thigh and lower abdomen along with a bit of his right wing.
All of his clothing is made of red satin and trimmed with brindle fur.
Specialized Equipment
He carries other signs of royalty beyond just his garb. In particular, he always has a scepter, a crown and a ring. All three of these items feature silver and sapphire, but the sapphire on the ring is far duller and cloudier than those found on the other items.
Mental characteristics
Morality & Philosophy
Like many other Beetlefolk, particularly those found in The Lost Oasis, Ohrsecte firmly believes in the divinity of The Light. Not much is known about what this means yet.
