Basic Information
Anatomy
The leaves of this tree are incredibly glossy, water resistent, and come grouped in sets of six. These leaves appear to remain green throughout the seasons.
It flowers during the spring and summer as evidenced by the shriveled matter found along the branches and near the leaf groups. It's unclear what color these flowers will be, but it'll likely be a gorgeous sight when they bloom again as the forest fills with even more color.
The bark has a hard, stonelike exterior with a soft interior leading into an incredibly hardwood capable of resisting fire and blunt impacts.
Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
The exterior of the bark of this tree, as suggested by the name, is as hard as stone. It can be used to reinforce buildings for extra defense, and the soft interior of the bark has been analyzed and confirmed to have health benefits including a potential cure for fungal infections.
The actual wood of the tree is also incredibly hard and fire resistent. It has been used to make the base of the wall that surrounds the Expedition Base and will be utilized to build walls, furniture and so forth around the camp as well. Potential upgrades to the buildings could come from the hard stone bark.
