Sundrenched Sweetgum is a type of resin producing deciduous tree found in
Tympi's Forest.
It was first discovered by
Namina while helping guide the other Spiritual Travelers during the construction of the
Expedition Base on Nurend 09, 308.
Basic Information
As a deciduous tree it is one of the plants in Tympi's Forest to change colors with the season. When the Spiritual Travelerse encountered it on Nurend 09, 308 it had the vibrant fiery colored leaves of autumn. These leaves will eventually fall as the season goes on and it will be bare in winter until new leaves bud and grow in spring.
If the tree is anything like the material plane sweetgum trees it will likely grow tiny bulbous flowers of varying red shades.
Additional Information
Namina has harvested the sap from one of these trees and processed it into a resin to be used in incense. The smell is described as a "beautifully strong, sweet, flowery, balsamic, woody, and slightly grassy fragrance."
When the incense is burned those that inhale it feel as though they are in a meadow on a pleasant day with the sun shining on them, keeping them warm. Within this meadow is a single tree providing very tempting shade.
Note that these feelings are not hallucinations or visions, just the
feeling of being in this place. Along with this sensation a name that they have never heard before is suddenly remembered:
Aotrom. Whoever that is is unclear with just one use of the incense.
