Whendigo
The Whendigo is a Spirit which can be found throughout The Gates. It is a manifestation of the Unanswered Questions "When am I?" or "When did I get here?" amongst others, and is representative of the phrase "I am not when I am."
The Spiritual Travelers first encountered this spirit somewhere between the evening of Nurend 42, 308 and the morning of Daulok 02, 308. Much like the Wheredigo, the lead-up to this spirit involved a bizarre dream the "night before". The dream was initially experienced in different ways depending on if they were asleep or awake. Those that were awake were better able to witness and understand the "dream" that those that were sleeping were currently in.
Dream
After waking up from this Time Dream, the Spiritual Travelers had the opportunity to witness the future. It's unclear how far in the future they were, but the entire forest had been cut down and covered in a familiar dark, oil-like film. The Whendigo initially presented itself as an elderly man, incredibly skinny with long hair on the sides of his bald head and a long, tangled beard. The old man's name wasn't revealed because he forgot to say it, but it can be found in the game's data files and was Horace, The Old Fool. After the Whendigo was defeated, the world almost returned to its normal time, though a full month had passed. The Whendigo also provided some wisdom: "She has a lot of Unanswered Questions. The Uncertainty that you feel during these trails will continue to hurt her. If you continue to have Uncertainty during these trials she will die."
The world around them was moving backwards or forwards in time...or perhaps both? Birds began flying upside down, and everything culminated with some ominous drops of blood rain as the world became nothing but light. A new world was built around them as dirt, gravel and other rocks began to fall from the sky. The source of this new world seemed to be some cold, dead celestial body like a sun or moon that had a massive gaping maw-like hole this new world was flowing from. It was soon discovered, however, that time was still flowing backwards and that these were the last moments of some dead world in reverse.
Time resumed as normal, and the final moments of this place were seen from both their own perspective and the perspective of some small, multi-legged creature, likely the same caterpillar.

Basic Information
Anatomy
The Whendigo has an emaciated humanoid frame with arms that reach down to its feet when fully extended. At the end of its arms are claws with black nails. It has black hooves instead of feet, and its head is the skull of a stag. Its ribcage is fully visible and its entrails are spilling out of an injured gut.
Its claws, hooves and horns are capable of siphoning the remaining years off of whatever it attacks. This causes the attacked creature to age a number of years, and the Whendigo heals from this as well, as if eating up time.
While in its human form as Horace, the Whendigo also tried to consume the time of whoever he was conversing with.
