Daphne saves the group from the angry mob and, as part of the contract, she sends the newly formed party on a mission to investigate the fate of her assistant.

Daphne informs them that the angry mob headed their way believe that Estelle, Darius and Sera are to blame for the storm that has torn through Psaris (though she herself believes that the elves are the ones to blame). She proposes a deal: they do a few favours for her and she will help them to escape the angry mob headed their way. They agree to the deal. Before leaving the cell, Daphne gives Sera a medallion similar to her own, one large open eye surrounded by a circle of closed eyes, which creates the illusion that Sera is a human. The medallion also allows Daphne to see through it. Once out of the cell and in Daphne's tower a 10 day contract is drawn up. Firstly, she would like them to go check on her "assistant", a young elven slave of wood elven descent, who she had sent to investigate things influenced by the events in Psaris. Once they had discovered the fate of her "assistant" they should report back to her and await further instructions. In return, the newly founded party were offered a place to stay, Gregi's Hut, as well as gold and other rewards when the favours for her were completed.
