Akanowa
A land of honour. Etiquette is of the utmost importance, as is tradition. Each is hallowed in the land and recognised by the very highest, to the very lowest. It is a relatively liberal land, with anyone being able to rise to the top. Their stories often feature peasants defeating monsters and becoming great heroes. It is said that the greatest of all the dragons, Huos the Mighty, was born here.
Geography
Akanowa is a land of relatively flat plains, with gorgeous pink forests and swift rivers. It is dotted with vast rivers and tall, thin mountains which make travel by bull or foot difficult. The fastest way to travel is to take a boat and use the various waterways to skip between the locations, otherwise travellers are required to ford between various bridges in order to reach their locations.
The towns and cities of Akanowa are generally built on large hills and the mountains that dot the landscape, for both defensive and inspiration purposes. The Shogun sea, a sea of red said to be caused by the blood of the enemies of the first Shogun, borders the southern coast, creating an intimidating approach to travellers from the mainland of the Great Realm.
Ecosystem Cycles
Akanowa is often plagued with rain, hence why its rivers and lakes are so deep and strong. The dark clouds can create an oppression climate, but equally when the sun does shine through it reveals the pinks of the leaves and shine of the grass.
Localized Phenomena
The seas to the north of Akanowa can be treacherous and unsafe. Animals tend to avoid travelling along it, preferring the Zangti River which flows through the northern middle of Akanowa instead for speedy travel. The sea down in the south is known as the Shogun Sea and is a deep red. Scholars suggest this is due to build up of sift and clay, but the stories are adamant that it is the blood of the first shogun's enemies, swirling in its depths.
