Leondric IX (932 AF – 960 AF) – Richard’s brother. During Leondric’s reign the Bishop of Gante, a large city in northern Ardhi, decided to build a new church to try and create revenue from the growing pilgrim trade. Having supposedly identified the birthplace of Aboye, the Demigod of Myth, he set up a spot for worship. The Bishop also supposedly used wyrd to manufacture miracles. The Archbishop was petitioned by the real monks of Aboye’s accepted birthplace, and he intervened. The Bishop struggled with the Archbishop’s authority and had his title stripped. He refused to leave his bishop throne, and ultimately had to be pulled from its seat so his successor could be acknowledged. It was a messy episode which did not reflect well on the Chapel.
