Aretha's Hot Spring
Purpose / Function
This scenic hotspring is fed by an upwelling thermal spring. In a twist of geologic coicidence, the spring that feeds these pools is not actually hot on it's own. Where most springs are in aquifers that are in close contact to magma chambers, this one is in contact with one of the largest gysers in the Valley of Mists. With the thermal chamber tunneling through the aquifer, has provided all the heat this spring needs.
The pools have been a source of respite for any and all who can find their way along the unmarked path leading up to it through the dense mists. The waters have an elixer of salts and minerals that soothe away aches and pains, accelerate the rate of healing for internal wounds, and instill a sence of calm in a world endless in issues and problimatic agents.
The People of Huron have long since cherished this pool in particular. The worst held secret in the entire region. Though it is also a place of curiosity for the citizens, as on occasion a Mistwalker will join them in the pool. Though much to the humans chagrin, the Mistwalkers don't seem to have much opinion about being nude in the pools. Though, mind your touch, you will be burned. They seem to enjoy the pools for all the same reasons as Humans, Gnomes and Dwarves.
Alterations
As time has progressed, a small pagoda has been built around the dell leading up to the spring. Being made of aromatic cedar wood, and flawless craftsmanship, the wooden structure has stood strong for the last century. Though it has been painted on a few dozen occasions, the humid air that swirls around the small basin is horrendous to any and all paints.
The painted sandstone rise has also been carved out over the years. The Mistwalkers apparently give their blessing about the alteration to their territory, as everytime they see the Monks of Azu or Koroth returning with chisels and stone mason hammers, they clear the mists away to see clearly what they are doing. Having been worn smooth by countless feet, it offers a comfortable ascension to the pools.
