Battle of Huron

Battle of Huron in - YEAR OF PRIDE 1211 -Huron battle a few decades back and how the Heroin of Huron might make an appearance (Historical account)   In a series of routs in the years 1209-1211 the Huronic Military had been making a full retreat to the capital City of Huron with nearly its last few battalions left standing. The city had been fully prepared to endure a lengthy siege while it waited for the Mhuzelti armada to encircle the Ramachian Caliphate’s Capital City on the eastern Shores of the Nation. They were also prepared to wait until reinforcements from the west in Glaion had returned from their skirmishes to the north where the Caliphate had launched an assault on the Northern Shores of the Aegis Mountain region.   While the Huron forces retreated they were not expecting a naval landing on the Iorli Sea just south of the City. They took heavy casualties from naval cannon fire. Though this was only due to the Caliphate having implemented, with a large degree of success, applying a forced blast from the assistance from the newly minted gravity mages.   The already shrunken army being land based could only move faster while they were having potshots taken at them. The army was able to make it back to the city with approximately 60% of its force still intact. The military had then prepared to settle in for a long siege while the Federation allowed its Zybtine Rebellion to take hold.   They were able to withstand a few months of the siege. The Huronic military was forced to wait longer than anticipated due to the Mhuzulti armada being forced to harbor just north of the Ramachian Capital because of an unseasonably long monsoon season. The Glaion army was unsuccessful in its attempts to break the siege as the Caliphate had positioned their main supply lines in the region of the slash and was thus able to keep fueling their forces with new soldiers with little contention.   The Caliphate had been working on a few new siege engines to try and force their way into the city as the Land based Glaion forces were never able to penetrate the Caliphate defenses that had been built up along the battlefield. While attempting to force their way into the city for the third time, the Caliphate was met with an unprecedented affair.   Unbeknownst to any party involved outside of the city. The great sage of the City had finished teaching his student Emily of Huron, the sage was occupied with keeping the walls from crumbling with a weave of magic that had rooted the walls to the bedrock below the city. This left the King of Huron to give the student an Archon Stone of the Sky which allowed the student to change the course of the war.   The Student had summoned a series of thunderstorms and burned the siege engines with a choice selection of lightning strikes. She had then also condensed the thunderheads into a hailstorm that, when released, annihilated much of the Caliphate forces surrounding the city. While this event did cause more casualties on the Federation forces, the complete rout of the Caliphate’s main force allowed the City of Huron to breathe and allowed the Glaion military to reinforce their ranks to chase after the retreating army.   The Caliphate returning to their Capitol under fire from the armada and a full blown rebellion to deal with, was unable to gain control of the situation.
