Barrow Peaks
The Barrow Peaks gained their name from their history. Named by the humans, the Barrow Peaks were once a thriving dwarven settlement... When the humans explored the peaks they found the great halls filled with bodies. To this day the dwarves have never revealed what happened in the Barrow Peaks, but the dwarves have never come back,. the dwarves left a large amount of valuables, as well as fully functioning mines. The true depth of the dwarven ruins have never been completely explored, though many myths of what can be found there still fills the ears of children late at night.
Geography
The Barrow Peaks are mountainous everywhere, but it does vary. In the middle of the Barrow Peaks there are some relatively large flat areas, but they are very difficult to access. The Barrow Peaks are also filled with caves and tunnels, some of them are probably created by creatures that have since disappeared.
Fauna & Flora
There is qute a lack of flora in the peaks, except for a few trees and patches of grass. As for fauna, there are a handful of creatures that primarily live in the peaks, most of them are herbivores, living off of the few grass patches and trees, though some are also able to actually consume minerals.

Natural Resources
It is not so much what's on the surface of the Barrow Peaks that is interesting, it is what's beneath them. Gems and valuable minerals in large quantities have been found over the years, although due to most of the mines actually haven been abandoned it does take alot of funding to effectively mine the deposits.
History
When the humans first explored the peaks, it quickly became clear that this was once home to dwarves... but no longer. Mass graves and abandoned bodies littered the Peaks. The cause of these deaths is still a mystery to this day, though disease is a popular theory. Today explores can still find bodies of the deceased dwarves, although they are becoming quite rare. The true extent of the Barrow Peaks' history is known probably only to the dwarves.
