Queen Silana

(a.k.a. the Scheming, Eventell's Gem, the Milk-Queen)

Queen Silana was a former queen of Eventell, wife to Aeosas of Eventell and mother of Alistair. It was said she was chosen by the king to be his bride while he was still at war with the Deathless, and that the king's only instructions to his regent Radbert of Hincona were to "Find me the prettiest woman in all the land, someone worthy of me".
Silana grew up as the youngest daughter of a cow farmer near the city of Lord, and was by far the most beautiful in her whole village. It was said that she was once courted by fifteen men at once, and naturally had to grow quite adept in social maneuvering and the game of seduction in order to avoid the jealous schemes of her three older sisters and keep the attention of that many suitors.
The small-town politics did not appeal to her, and she dreamed of a life much richer where she could put her obvious talents to greater use and earn a living far surpassing what her circumstances had in store for her. So she made for Lord, and became a courtesan. Her fame in the polite circles quickly sky-rocketed, enough to reach the ear of the regent all the way in Kiver, who chose her for the king. A painting of her was sent to the front lines, and Aeosas enthusiastically accepted the marriage, and wanted an immediate ceremony there in the heart of the war. Silana was taken to Pey under heavy guard, attacked twice on the road by Deathless and wounded the second time. It was said that this wound would be the reason she could not readily conceive in the years to follow.
Her and Aeosas wed and had a week together in Pey before she was sent back. She quickly inserted herself into the seat of the regent, and the two began a quiet power struggle that eventually culminated into a heated, secret affair. They schemed about overthrowing Aeosas, but before their plans could even be laid out, the war with the Deathless ended, and the king was hurrying back to Kiver to take control of his kingdom.
Over the following years, the regent and Silana continued their affair, while relations soured quickly between Aeosas and Silana over the latter's inability to conceive, and the former's bastard son whom he wanted to legitimise. Aeosas died suddenly at the age of 44, leaving the throne to his and Silana's son, Alistair. Silana breathed a sigh of relief and prepared to finally have the control of the throne that she lusted for, through the manipulation of her 13 year of son. However, Alistair knew about his mother's decades-long affair, and the many times she had tried to kill Alistair's beloved older brother, and so the boy-king quietly confronted her and gave her the choice of death or banishment. She chose banishment, and was never seen in Eventell again.
