Croatoan
Climate: Tropical, Temperate
Terrain: Jungle, Ocean, Mountains
Population: Unknown, likely less than 1 million
While it shares a system with the capital, a vast majority of the surface remains completely unexplored. Officially, this is due to the dangerously aggressive wildlife that inhabits the jungles and marshes that cover most of the planet, as well as the massive predators that inhabit the seas. However, hiveworld folklore hints at a much darker explanation. There are whispers of a colonization effort by the High Lords to exploit Croatoan’s vast natural resources. Rumor suggests that the colony was monumentally successful, and provided the High Lords with the economic means to subvert the original local Planetary Governor’s administration through bureaucracy, bribes and kickbacks— at least until all communications from the colony abruptly ceased simultaneously. A handful of teams were dispatched from the hiveworld to investigate, each larger and better equipped than the last, but not a single one has returned and the High Lords have since turned their attention toward one another.
