CC:Session34: The Heroes of the Orion
General Summary
Kho'a'zul returned to The Orion to see it being ripped to sheds. As buildings were torn apart in front of him, he found Raven fighting in the streets. Knowing that Ko was a member of The Agitators he opened a portal into The Heart of the Orion and sent Ko to back them up.
Dimitri found himself standing with Verus, son of the prince of the frost. Verus offered to remove the pain of lost love from Dimitri and in turn grant him the power of his court. Dimitir agreed and was given his first assignment, to collect three artifacts. First, a glass bead that contains a small white flower which grows, blooms, and dies each day. Second, an acorn that giggles like a young girl when shaken. Finally, a magic mirror that changes the viewers appearance just slightly enough that they know something is wrong, but not enough that they can figure out what is wrong. With the mission given, Verus sent Dimitir through a rift to meet with The Agitators.
With the two portals colliding, Kho'a'zul and Dimitri found themselves reconnected with The Agitators and pressed to push on as time ran low. Together they braved through The Heart of the Orion.
The party found themselves at The Draconic Anchor, which connects the Cosmic-Dragons to The Orion. While Vox hacked the system, Dart saw a portal opening in front of him. With the banging of a hammer, he was brought face to face with the Gurun Cosmic-Dragon of the forge, Korob. Korob tasked Dart with forging a new path between The Aether touched worlds and bring the Gurun back to their lost home world.
Pressing on, the party came face to face with a paranoid beholder named Nagish. They convinced him that they were there to warn him about the other beholders and prevent their spies from stopping him. Nagish then let them pass. Fighting beasts and meeting strange creatures along the way, they made their way to the Numina and Nothing and Nowhere anchors.
Finally with all five anchors hacked, they reorganized the flow of magic on The Orion. The new order is now as listed (from most to least powerful):
The spirit of Carbide then returned and plugged itself into the core systems of The Orion giving it new life and stopping the fall. The Agitators stepped outside and were greeted by roaring applause. The crowds cheered as they were heralded as the new leaders of the city, but Boots took the moment to explain it was time for him to retire and tend to his wounds.
