Phykirians

One of the oldest sentient species in the sector, the Phykirians are a race of primordial fish people who shed shimmering gold fish scales and held secrets of the Cosmic Aurora older than the Pantheon themselves.

In fact, they ruled the unorganized clutter of planets with the help of their Titan mother goddess Cybele and her primordial retinue of sorcerer-smiths: The Telaktelyon.

Phykene: one of the Telaktelyon and their direct ancestor gave them their fish-like appearance, helped them create the first primitive DST Accelerator Lanes, taught them about Aurorized smithing, how to incorporate their gold fish scales into superior weaponry/armor/ship hulls, and eventually won the favor of their mother Goddess over their Telaktelyonae sibling tribes in the Steepe.

From their capital planet of Daskelon, the Phykirians ruled an empire over their siblings from the end of the Ancestor Hegemony through the Titan Hegemony.

Called away by their mistress Cybele to hide Zeus from Cronos, Phykene and her fellow sorcerer-smiths were never seen again. Most would fade into extinction with only a rare reference to their legendary weaponry made for the Pantheon in their upcoming struggle with their parents.

However, when the Pantheon would emerge and overthrew the Titans. They were less than cordial with their new subjects.

Zeus incorporated Cybele into their retinue as Rhea, merged Phykirian planets into the massive god planet Karoj-Menos, stole their DST Accelerator technology, made Daskelon Zeus' impenetrable fortress capital, and replaced the Phykirians with the Mycestians as the mortal rulers of the sector.

After the destruction of Karoj-Menos, most Phykirians were either killed in the explosion or died in the irradiated planets within The Squeeze (see Topographical History of the Sector.

The few that survived the Invasion of the Progenitors fled to the moons that would dot the Pontic Thumb, the Rodrian Sling, and the Eceterus Maze clusters respectively.

Their golden fish scales along with local Planktonyx excretions would inspire the Lypneans to invent the Blood Mint economy for minting Ichor into physical coins.

While the Phykirians would never reunite their lost empire. These skilled craftspeople would serve the Patrokonoi-Hellecia well and be inoculated as a Mixolastian Sub-Species under direct supervision of their Lypnean overlords along with Pontic Thumb.

They would serve as navigators or helmsmen aboard Star-Decks, master smiths with foreign designs unique from their Aeonite guild competitors, mint auditors for their Lypnean overlords, seers/priests for the Cosmic Aurora, and historical guides for local Ionite UHP rectors.

Foreigners in regions of space they once called their empire. Subservient to another hegemony won by force. Within the Patrokonoi-Hellecia, the Phykirians would serve as a reminder of a distant past. The first ones to witness more than one (including their own) rise and fall.

Playing neutral in the coming war between the Lanaxdrians and Delots and secretly praying for a swift end to their shame.
