The Magi Tower
Just about the only place where magic is studied, those interested in the arcane arts flock to The Magi Tower, far to the southeast of the world. The tower itself is not placed on any land, but juts out of the ocean. It is believed that before the great flood there stood a tower of epic proportions, and that what remains, although imposing in its own right, is just the tip of a much larger structure. Those chasing stories of powerful magic users often follow rumour to the tower, but almost always come away disappointed. Much of the arcane knowledge once known is still a mystery, and although the expertise of the wizards of the tower is valued, their actual proficiency in casting spells does not live up to the stories of people conjuring storms and toppling nations.
History
The Magi Tower was constructed sometime around 2000 years before the sinking of the world, where it was a hub for magical study and experimentation. When the world sank, the tower was no exception, and there it lay empty until 698AS, where Taranthian scouts discovered it as a mysterious tower rising from the ocean, steadfast against the waves.
Since it's discovery, The Order of Magi has been established as the chief investigators of the magical artefacts and arcane knowledge that reside here, and some amount of infrastructure has been constructed - a dock, pontoons, and so on - to make living and working here practical.
