Sexuality
Garrond was married on his 25th year to the daughter of an Asotrian Duke, however, the marriage bore no children and she ultimately chose to remain with her father's family after Garrond's banishment from Astoria following the failed usurption of The Crossing.
Garrond did eventually marry again, and took a Rodnoy tribeswoman named Bothal as his wife and queen. Outside of marriage, Garrond was known to have at least on mistress, who stories and rumors insist was the woman he truly loved, yet could not be with her as she was from a Rodnoy tribe without influence that was despised by the others. She bore Garrond a single son, who like his father was a giant of a man. Unfortunately this son was said to have been mauled by a Kossavk Bear are died before his 25th year.
Failures & Embarrassments
Reeling under the tyranny of the high-lord of The Crossing (a shoreland region of Old Astoria), several of the local lords rose up against the High-Lord they had sworn fealty too in an attempt to usurp his throne. Garrond was one of these Astorian Lords, and although his county was poor, they were great warriors and Garrond led them to victory after victory against larger forces.
Unfortunately, the High-Lord's allies arrived and encircled Garrond and the other lords, who were captured and stripped of their titles before being exiled into the wilderness. Furious with what he saw as the failings of his peers, Garrond berated both the High-Lord and the Astorian King for their failures and inadequacies before gathering his followers and leaving Astoria - never to return.
