Hector Ehlert

Hector is Jason Ehlert's oldest son. He was born to Jason's first wife, a member of his adventuring party. They separated when Jason was only a small child, and Jason lived with his mother for years in Palmer while his father travelled.
The wealth gap between his mother and father was significant, with his mother being a peasant and his father a nobleman. When Jason settled down, ten years after Hector's mother had been forced into retirement by his birth, he sent for Hector to educate and bring up as his trueborn heir. It's well known in noble circles that Jason almost refused to go until his mother pushed him, reasoning that becoming the Ehlert heir would set him up for life, financially.
Jason's apparently cavalier attitude towards his children has created a deep well of bitterness inside Hector. He's a talented duellist but rough around the edges and deeply jealous of the noble sons and daughters Jason spends more time with. He's close to Elliott, but not to Alfonse who he sees as another interloper.
