Qualifications

Must reach the rank of Agent, although in rare circumstances exceptions have been accepted, or the individual in question has been rushed through an Agent training course, often leaving out any irrelevant physical requirements.

Appointment

As this rank has the fastest turnover in the entire organisation, there is no ceremony. The rank is provided, and you are assigned a roster with a time, date and location. Most Staff Agents are assigned to Constabulary to more simplify their travel needs, but many of the larger starships carry a single Staff with them to manage the more routine internal protocols, while officers handle the other tasks more familiar to experienced Overwatch troops.

Duties

This role is often offered to capable Stewards nearing the end of their capabilities in the Stewards, whether through age or injury. Some decline to spend time with their families, or only apply themselves part-time but most are proud to continue serving the Pact Worlds in any capacity - this is the mindset that the Stewards promote and embody.

Responsibilities

Staff Agents, like so many others in the upper ranks of the Stewards, work in the background with little to no thanks from the general public. Their tasks include the logistics of equipment from plasma pistols to battleships, salaries, the facilitation and fine-tuning the negotiation of bribes and hostages...many of these less-than-glorious tasks are done by Staff Agents.

Benefits

Often, any previous authority to access locations or assets is revoked as Staff Agents are not focused on the field but rather on information warfare and administration. For many though, they have satisfied any lust for glory or rank, and accept a position that allows them to both serve the Stewards and enjoy settling down with a family or perhaps a small business.
As far as rank is concerned, they are on equal standing with an Agent - a comfortable compromise between the hands-on tasks of lower ranks and the strenuous diplomacies and strategic maneuvering of the officers.

Accoutrements & Equipment

Staff Agents rarely carry heavy-duty equipment in their day-to-day tasks, but many still keep subtle artefacts of their past careers on their person - when two Staff Agents meet, they often compare exotic weaponry scavenged from some temple on Eox or perhaps Castrovel, where they narrowly averted one cataclysmic ritual or another. They are recommended to wear no uniform, as it would mark them as easy targets during their daily transit. Some even have a secure network installed into their home, and rarely ever leave it again.
