Invasion of the Southern Barbarians

Military action

An invasion of southern barbarians overruns the Wetpeng garrison and Kahgang Su. For the first time local forces outnumber those loyal to the emperor in armies repelling the invasion. The invasion ends suddenly and the barbarian forces retreat.

The southern barbarians have always been big in built and taller than the natives of the Shou Lung. The retreating armies of the barbarians was a shock for the local province lords. The cause of the retreat is unknown, but guessed to be the death or other loss of the barbarian's charismatic leader. Many of the clan militias and meercenary forces formed during this invasion remain in place after this time to watch the southern borders. Leading to the local lords earning more power in the bureaucracy in their province.
