Êstris

Many learned people could answer why storms are created across the oceans of The Reach, but not one could tell you where the lighting of these storms will strike. Just as those who can tell the future may make their predictions, it is Estris who gives these visions meaning. Estris is fickle and mysterious Cosmo of Chance, known widely as Lady Luck she is credited for the greatest of triumphs and the darkest of defeats. She draws her power from the chaotic ocean waters of the Reach, letting no parts of the water know peace.

Culture

Êstris can be found being worshipped in almost any culture across the Reach in one of her many forms. These different cultures commonly call her Êstris, or Lady Luck, but choose to worship her in a variety of different ways. Culturally it is common to either offer sacrifices to ask for fortune, or burn effigies when experiencing bad luck. There is not a large organization dedicated to the worship of Êstris, but many smaller temples built to worship Êstris offer aide to people in need. It is often joked that those who hold power in the Reach must be devoted follower of Êstris, because it seems like they have the most fortune.

Religious Theology

There are very few large organized religions centered around Êstris, but instead numerous different smaller temples that are filled with prophets, diviners, fortune tellers, and oraceles all with their own unique understanding of the ways of Lady Luck. Êstris has a much larger following on the coasts as well as among sea faring people especially in Old Salt. Those who call Old Salt their home see it as being blessed by the Matron of the Seas as her bastion of chaos in what has become a more ordered sea over the second age.

Devas

Lady Luck - This is Êstris' most common Deva because of the universality of a belief in good and bad luck throughout the Reach. There is much variance in weather people in certain areas see Êstris as a benevolent goddess or a cruel matron.   Matron of the Seas - The people of Old Salt know that there is little that can be done to bend the arc of fate unless you have the Matron of the Seas on your side. These people know that the storms of Êstris come, and you can only hope she bends them away from your path.
