Za Family Portrait

Table of Contents
A framed photograph of Za Refa and her family.

Appearance

Depicted Scene

The portrait shows Refa and her husband, Za Beran, standing behind their young adult son Za Virun. All three are wearing elegant, formal clothes and Virun has the traditional yellow graduation scarf draped around his neck.

Frame

The metal frame is rectangular with semi-circle patterns stamped along its inner and outer edges. It is coated with a silver finish that looks slightly tarnished. A glass pane protects the photograph itself.

History

The Za family hired a photographer to take the original picture when Virun graduated from secondary school. This particular copy was then gifted to Virun's maternal grandparents, Op Vaha and Op Akos.   When the Op family moved to the shelter, the photograph was placed on a shelf in the living room.

Significance

Unlike the family of her brother Ninu, Refa's family did not come to the shelter with Vaha and Akos. This made the photograph especially precious for her parents, helping them feel connected to their daughter despite her being far away.
