The Khersos Isles

In an archipelago shrouded by an eternal storm, people keep trying to make a living. The Khersos Isles, separated from the Continent, are home to several countries, all remnants of a dark empire. In these isles, a plot to begin a war anew bubbles; ancient weapons of war are hidden amongst massive forges; and the eternal storm threatens to expand again...   The Khersos Isles consist of several countries and religions; from the Chevalian worshipers of a child goddess, to the Dyeolchiu, followers of the Ulanese sun. Rumors of strange, far off lands still exist; tales from royals of what the Continent was like, passed down from their ancestors. "Things" coming from below the Cloudsea, and rumors of what may lie inside or above it.   Recently, the Cloudsea has calmed to an extent; lances of electric thunder only going downwards now than upwards, the sun piercing through it at times, revealing towers unseen since five hundred years ago. Ships are risking voyages through it again, sometimes even surviving.
