Hull
The Town of Hull is a small place, known for its rather confusing name. Hull is mostly a fishing town, with a few carpenters who work on boats. Hull used to be much larger, but when the storms broke, the town lost a safe connection to the outside.
The name of Hull itself comes from a rather obvious fact - the majority of buildings are made from old boat hulls, scuttled. The primary buildings one will notice are its Creche of Syll, the town hall, the docks, the market, and the tavern. The Creche of Syll has been missing its priestess for many days, and the tavern has suffered from the absence of its owner.
Hull is suffering from many strange disappearances; those considered beautiful or those with magical powers seem to be going missing. The mayor has prohibited the guards from researching the disappearances, presumably for some kind of ulterior motive.
Demographics
Majority Dwarven.
Government
Hull's government is city-council based, where the mayor holds most authority. Various minor guild heads have advisory rights, though only the teamsters' and merchants' guilds actually utilize them.
Defences
Hull aligns its buildings such that it produces narrow streets that can easily be blocked off in the event of an invasion.
Industry & Trade
Hull trades small goods with other local villages, but otherwise has little contact with the rest of Chevalia. The industry of Hull majorly consists of ship repairs, lodgings, and fishing; the village serves as a feeder for other villages, and maintains the lighthouse.
Infrastructure
Hull has docks and roads, of course, and a lighthouse. Hull has the only shipyards accessible for miles, and this shipyard is the primary reason for its existence.
Guilds and Factions
The teamsters' guild and merchants' guild generally work together, but often debate due to personal drama between their guild-heads. The local Creche of Syll has a decent sized following, as well.
History
Hull is the story of a rather personal drama; the dockmaster, Sarah Owler, and the mayor Quinlan Smith dated once. The town tries to ignore the political implications, but a lot of the recent legal decisions seem intended specifically to annoy her.
Architecture
Hull consists of scuttled boat hulls used to create structures.
Geography
Hull is on a craggy shore, rather unsafe for travel at night. The village served mostly as a stopping point for fishermen, to prevent them from having to return to their village at night.
