Edwarn Cynweiss

Elder Prince Consul of Eternal Baron Alldrick (a.k.a. Prince of Sorrow, Commander of Darkness, Great Missionary of Crowns, Aged Overlord of the Night)

Edwarn Cynweiss was the appointed successor of The Eternal Baron Alldrick Saebeorht. He followed the feared rulers words like gospel and never questioned him, eventually placing him in a exclusive list of trusted individuals.   During his time as second in command to Alldrick, Edwarn would commit a vast amount of hideous war crimes earning him names such as the Commander of Darkness. In 3601 AE, Alldrick claimed that he had made contact with Creation Demandancy through a dream. Edwarn would be the first to hear of what the High Seated Seraphim had to say, Alldrick explained that the angel told him his duty was to purge those who were dirty. When Edwarn asked how to determine who was dirty, Alldrick responded:
"Edwarn, my loyal disciple," Alldrick's voice resonated with a mixture of reverence and fervour. "The High Seated Seraphim spoke to me of a way to discern the tainted souls from the pure ones. It is a task that only the chosen few, like you and I, can accomplish. We must delve into the very essence of their hearts and minds, seeking out the darkness that taints them."   Edwarn, his loyalty unshaken, absorbed Alldrick's words with rapt attention. "Tell me, my lord, how do we accomplish this sacred duty? How can we cleanse our world of those who have been marked by impurity?"   A dark smile played upon Alldrick's lips, his eyes gleaming with an unsettling light. "We shall wield the power of the Crowned Shadows, the ancient relics granted to us by the divine forces that guide us. These artefacts, channelling the essence of Creation Demandancy, will allow us to peer into the depths of a soul and expose the malevolence that resides within."
With fervent determination, Edwarn and Alldrick set forth on a new crusade, their twisted interpretation of a divine mission driving them to cleanse their realm. The Crowned Shadows, artefacts of unparalleled power, granted them the ability to peer into the hearts of individuals, exposing their sins and fears. Edwarn's grim purpose intensified, fuelled by his unyielding loyalty to Alldrick and his distorted sense of righteousness.   As the years passed, the reputation of Edwarn Cynweiss grew darker still. He became known as the Prince of Sorrow, a harbinger of dread and despair, as he carried out the ruthless purging of those he deemed unworthy of existence. Whole communities were razed, innocent lives extinguished in the name of an ideology twisted beyond recognition. The world trembled under the weight of their tyranny, its people living in fear of the Prince of Sorrow and the Eternal Baron.   Yet, even in darkness, seeds of doubt can sprout. As Edwarn carried out his merciless mission, a flicker of uncertainty ignited within him. The Crowned Shadows revealed not just the sins of others but also his own tormenting doubts and hidden regrets. Despite his unwavering loyalty to Alldrick, a shadowy whisper in the recesses of Edwarn's mind began to question the true nature of their actions.   Then, in a moment that shattered his convictions, Edwarn uncovered a revelation that would change his course forever. Hidden within the forbidden archives of Alldrick's sanctuary, he stumbled upon a letter written by Alldrick himself—a letter addressed to the High Seated Seraphim. In it, the Eternal Baron admitted to fabricating the dream, to inventing the divine mandate as a means to consolidate power and perpetrate his reign of terror.   Stricken with both disbelief and a profound sense of betrayal, Edwarn confronted Alldrick. The confrontation was fierce and cataclysmic, a battle that echoed with the clash of swords and the cries of souls seeking liberation. In the end, Edwarn's blade found its mark, ending the reign of darkness that had consumed them both.   With the fall of Alldrick, Edwarn faced a world shattered by his own actions, a world scarred by war crimes and suffering. Consumed by guilt and remorse, he turned his back on the mantle of power and set forth on a new mission—to atone for his past sins, to rebuild what he had helped destroy, and to mend a fractured world.
