Kawashima Hiroko
Reality Slasher (a.k.a. Teacher Generous, Generous Child, The Harsh Marker)
Kawashima Hiroko or "Reality Slasher" is a teacher at The Frosted Dojang, her origins are unknown but due to her ethnicity it is presumed she was born somewhere in The Eastlands and assumed at some point made her way to The Mountainside region seeking Sensei Kamisama in order to refine her abilities.
Nowadays Hiroko is a teacher at the Dojang and helps others to understand and strengthen their own unique abilities. She is quite the opposite from Kamisama who is light hearted by nature and becomes openly attached to his students, Hiroko is stern and believes that pushing one to their limits and experiencing pain is the best way to achieve the progression they seek. It is a common joke among the students that her name was a curse as it means "Generous Child," who they perceive the teacher as anything but.
Those with a head on their shoulders are capable of easily seeing past Hiroko's brutal reputation, anyone who is a teacher at a place like the Dojang obviously aspires to help others and would surely enjoy seeing them better themselves and abilities. Hiroko does have a light side that pops out occasionally but is only openly evident to Kamisama and previously Zesshi Nusuma, the young girl spent plenty of time with the teacher during her days at the Dojang and rumours circulated that Hiroko was found in tears after learning about Nusuma's abandonment of the Dojang.
Kawashima Hiroko was well aware of the nature of Ryoman Hayabusa before his departure with Zesshi Nusuma, she urged Kamisama to look past the love he had for the boy and see the negatives that were so blisteringly obvious to her, despite her warnings, Kamisama would continue to teach Ryoman until the day of his leave.
However Hayabusa's departure was a direct result of the Sensei revealing to him that he would not inherit the Dojang at the time of Kamisama's passing. This decision from the Sensei could be a direct result from the words spoken to him by Hiroko, they were as followed:
You are a wise man Sensei, but you let that man child blind you. The silk over your eyes is thicker than the snow that graces the roof of this very Dojang. The love you have for that boy is beautiful and truly genuine but sometimes love is a grave mental disease, one that casts an immense shadow over recognising a persons true nature. Nobody looks like what they really are on the inside. You don’t. I don’t. People are much more complicated than that. It’s true of everybody and you fail to see this when it comes to Ryoman Hayabusa. When I look into his eyes, I see something different from you. When that boy dreams, he dreams of riding into villages on horse back and disposing of anyone who is not fit to ride by his side, he only respects strength and that's the only reason he respects you. You will see, when he surpasses you, the love he shares will evaporate. I understand we all have a monster within, the difference is in degree, not in kind and that boy is a boiling pot of evil intentions and the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
