Dale's Edge
The picturesque rolling hills and fields stretch out for the small hill atop which the town of Dale's Edge sits. The road parts the different pastures and crops on its way, following the terrain rather then cutting though it. As one approaches the palisade surrounding the town, the plateau overlooks the southern plains that stretch forth to the great cities of the south. Plains stretch out to the south, forests to the north, and mountains to the west frame this agrarian town as an untouched paradise.
Dale's Edge in the largest of the agrarian settlements in the Known World; too small to be considered a city, yet way too large to be counted among the villages and hamlets that dot the countryside. The fact that Dale's Edge is close to the larger cities has allowed for it to capitalize on the trade that comes along the Kaiserzorn eventually headed to Merchant's Plain. The ruling Henneberg's have maintained the agrarian status of the village with strict rules that inhibit large scale industrialization like what the other cities nearby have.
At the center of Dale's Edge sits the Herrenhaus, the Henneberg's estate and the local seat of power. The town hall, local barracks, and jail are all part of the Herrenhaus complex so it is commonplace to see the graf, Volkhard Henneberg, as well as the rest of his family. In fact, Graf Henneberg married a commoner, Lady Lamberta, which has endeared the graf to his people. Lady Lamberta can be seen with the children working the large garden in the Herrrenhaus courtyard as well as other "peasants' chores" throughout the year.
Dale's Edge ain't never had anything exciting happen. I mean, they have enough time on their hands to breed giant chickens. That backwater's not a place likely to take to your exotic wares, friend.

Defences
The entire town of Dale's Edge consists of wooden palisades with watch towers placed in key locations. There are three gates into the city which are constantly manned by the town watch. The younger brother of Graf Henneberg, Wilhelm Henneberg, serves as castellan of Dale's Edge and oversees the town watch and defenses of the town.
Industry & Trade
Dale's Edge is mainly an agrarian settlement with the largest portion of the population running their own farms or freeman working rented parcels from the better off families or the Henneberg's lands. Being in the heart of a fertile valley has allowed crops to grow abundantly. The excess production is traded among the community or sold to the few merchants in town who then broker sale to the larger cities further south, in particular Merchant's Plain.
The Henneberg family have been the ruling grafs of Dale's Edge from before the fall of the Empire of Man. Through the centuries, Dale's Edge has remained neutral in every conflict that has tried to envelope the hamlets that surround the larger cities of the Known World. Most detractors of the Hennebergs ridicule the family sigil as fitting for their cowardice.
The current ruler of Dale's Edge is Volkhard Henneberg.
