    The Sieges of Lower Cedarwood
    Military action

The Warriors of Cedarwood launch a surprise assault on the Cathedral, being influenced by the cult of the hanging tree to assault their enemy the cult of the new age overlords.   A patrol sent from the city sailed down river to assault the side wall with ladders on boats, a small number of convicts infiltrate the catacombs via a secret tunnel. The guards of the hamlet cross the main bridge.   The cult of the hanging tree betray cedarwood and annex the hamlet while the guards are out, and their mercenaries are severely underprepared for the catacombs manoeuvre.   The party gets caught up in the catacombs and must fight off the convicts to stay alive, salvaging what equipment they can from the surrounding area.

    The Capturing of Greenmetal Hamlet
    Military action

The hanging tree capture Greenmetal hamlet from the Bannermen of Cedarwood after promising them aid in assaulting the temple fortress complex. This followed months of subtle manipulation and faction agent infiltration into the Bannermen's ranks. It catches Greenmetal completely off-guard as they initially welcome the cultists in, assuming their nominal alliance to be upheld. Instead the threat of violence is given by the sub commanders of the invasion taskforce. There is a brief squaring off between thugs on both side before the Mayor surrenders the Greenblade, a sign of submission to the superior force. The citizens are not harmed, but many begin packing and later flee as refugees, fearing malicious intentions from the hanging tree.

The Withdrawl of the Bannermen from South Cedarwood
    Population Migration / Travel

Following the loss of Greenmetal Hamlet, and with increased activity of a number of cults, bandits and separatists, the Bannermen formally withdraw from the Southern Territories. They withdraw and concentrate their forces further North in an attempt to save losses and regroup. Along with this several key reforms are instituted including a change in policy, now allowing the hiring of mercenaries and small contractor groups to save manpower. Officers who bought their commissions and proved useless in the field and swapped to nominal parade roles and promotions through the ranks become commonplace. Equipment becomes state provided and is improved, mages are hired in greater numbers, and a plot of land is offered to allow veterans to retire and take up training roles within the army.
