Purple Gold Tea Syrup

This is the secret recipe for Purple Gold, a specific brand of violet tea syrup that was created by Violette Swifte, an old confectioner who operates her one-woman business out of her home in Crenel Hills. Her syrup is popular for its sweetness, hint of spice, and unique dark color.

Ingredients

4 cups of swift violets, stems and leaves removed   1/2 cup of fresh mint leaves   cherry blossom liqueur   water, as needed
1 1/2 cups of cane sugar   1/2 cup of raw courser bee honey   1/4 tsp of Goron spice   monster extract

Directions

  1) Soak the violets and mint leaves in separate bowls of liqueur for about 10 minutes.   2) Strain the flowers and leaves of all liquid, then place into separate jars and fill with just enough boiled water to cover the plants. Cover jars and let sit for 24 hours.   3) Prepare a hot water bath by boiling water in a pot and placing a glass bowl within the pot.   4) Strain the violet water and mint water into the bowl so that no material remains, then add the sugar, honey, and Goron spice.   5) Stir in the sugar, honey, and spice until they completely dissolve in the violet water, then add a single drop of monster extract.   6) Cook until the syrup turns dark purple, about 5 to 10 minutes.   7) Pour the syrup into a bottle or jar and immediately seal so that the monster extract can continue to cook in the hot syrup. Completely cool, then store in a dry, dark area.

Mrs. Violette uses fresh violets and mint that she grows on her property, as well as raw honey from her own personal hive of courser bees that she feeds homemade violet candy. This attracts grizzlemaws, so her property is littered with bear traps, and she keeps a crossbow on hand at all times.   Purple Gold is a favorite in the Dragmire Household, and Lady Conarith refuses to make tea without it.
