Lorine

Demographics

The hamlet of Lorine is mainly comprised of human farmers.

Government

Lorine does not have its own formal government. The closest town, Whitebridge, has basically taken over. They are a much larger town to the West. They tax the villagers harshly, and do not necessarily provide much in return.

Defences

Lorine is protected by guards sent from Whitebridge. The problem is that the guards they send are not particularly motivated, drink on the job, and generally do not do a good job of defending the town. Because of their incompetent protectors, some of the townsfolk have learned to use weapons at a basic level, and are capable of defending themselves and their families.

History

The hamlet of Lorraine was founded in the year 760 by a human man named Joseph Stetson. It was named after his wife. It was a very small community, and very close knit. After Joseph Stetson's death in 794, his son, Gilbert, took over his duties to the town. In 835, Gilbert passed them to his own son, Earl. Two years later, during a harsh winter, Earl signed a contract with the town of Whitebridge, giving them control of the hamlet in exchange for their resources.
