Elden Lord

Elden Lord is a title of great reverence. Godfrey was the first one to hold this title and was later replaced by Radagon.

Background

The title of Elden Lord was given to the consorts of Queen Marika the Eternal. What power and authority the Elden Lord wields is unclear, as is the nature of the relationship between an Elden Lord and their deity. In the case of the consorts of Queen Marika, they appear to have been able to wield the power of The Elden Ring to an unknown extent.   While Godfrey was the first consort of Queen Marika, and is thus known as the first Elden Lord, other deities have had their own consorts, who appear to have played a similar role as that played by Marika's Elden Lord.

Lore

When Marika came to The Lands Between and claimed the Elden Ring, she chose a warrior by the name of Hoarah Loux as her consort and her first Elden Lord. Hoarah Loux took the name "Godfrey", and led her armies in many wars to secure the supremacy of Marika's Golden Order. When his last worthy enemy fell, Marika robbed Godfrey and his followers of grace, and exiled them from the Lands Between, bidding them to travel far and continue fighting, so that they might grow strong enough to one day return and reclaim the Elden Ring. Godfrey and his warriors would thus become the first Tarnished.   With Godfrey banished, Marika took Radagon, a champion of the Erdtree and secretly her male half, as the second Elden Lord. Once Marika shattered the Elden Ring, she and Radagon were fused into a single body and imprisoned deep within the Erdtree.   With Radagon's disappearance, and the failure of any of the Demigods to unite the shattered fragments of the Elden Ring, grace was once again extended to the Tarnished, and they returned to the Lands Between in order to once again brandish the Elden Ring and claim the title of Elden Lord.
