The Elden Ring

The Elden Ring is an immensely powerful object integral to the existence of The Lands Between and the source of The Erdtree's strength. In its shattered state, many of its shards are in the possession of the children of Queen Marika the Eternal.

Description

The Ring itself exists within Queen Marika's own body and is the physical manifestation of The Golden Order brought forth by The Greater Will at the beginning of her rule. It is made from many Great Runes, each possessing the power to influence the integral "aspects" which make reality within the Lands Between, these "aspects" may vary from each rune and can be anything ranging from "Death" to even "Order". Every Great Rune has a different shape and when all of them are arranged together to form the Elden Ring its shape is very similar to a Triquetra. Outside of it's "ringlike" form which is mostly commonly seem today, the Elden Ring also possesses a original living form that is called the Elden Beast. It only reveals itself when The Golden Order is threatened. It is the goal of the Tarnished to seize the Elden Ring, and become Elden Lord. This is achieved by killing Queen Marika's Demi-God children, claiming the missing Great Runes, and restoring the Elden Ring. Finally, the Tarnished must then become the consort of Queen Marika. All prior Elden Lords, of which there have been two during the rule of the Golden Order, were consorts of Queen Marika, and served to protect the Elden Ring and carry out the bidding of Queen Marika.

Origins

The Elden Ring in a age long past, was originally a Golden Star. That star came from the "Cosmos" by the power of The Greater Will into the Lands Between, that star beared a beast, a "Vassal Beast". The beasts purpose would be to ocupy the Lands between in behalf of their deific master, untill a "fitting champion" was chosen to be it's vessel. That champion, was a Numen Empyrean, by the name of Marika. The vassal was called the Elden Beast, it was the living representation of Order and the original form of the Elden ring. After Marikas crowning and ascension to the status of a "God", the beast Itself became the Elden Ring, becoming the Golden Order of the lands between, and Marika their chosen Vessel, became a container for the Elden Ring. From that moment foward started the "Age of the Erdtree", with Marika as the ruling sovereign of the Lands Between.
