Session 39: Can you ever go home?
General Summary
Having retaken the lesser barbican for Shaeje the heroes were presented with a problem: make their way to the Drunken Ogre to find a way under the city, or save their own skins and leave the city. As they were considering this a knight of Shaeje rode up, Ser Galen Tallfellow, and enquired as to their allegience. Once niceties had been exchanged Ser Galen praiased the heroes and spoke of a possible upcoming conscription...but an arrow in his back heralded attacking lizardmen from nearby battles in the city streets.
Ser Galen and the party killed the reptiles and before Ser Galen rode off to rejoin battles nearby he noted the upcoming conscription of Bissel citizens. Mi'tsuru'gi retored that the Big Feet adventuring party might be behind it all...
With only rumours to guide them the party made their way down city streets to the Drunken Ogre. Battles raged around them and they had to fight through lizardmen and a hill giant.
A troupe of Bugbears guarded the Ogre, apparently the evil powers ravaging the city believed somethign imporant was housed in this simple pub. At least the party thought so and they battled their way inside, killing the bugbears, but not before learning that a secret entrance to caverns and dungeons beneath Shaeje housed the evil druid ancestors of the baron and an important book (Session 14: Argus Defeated! Report). Rumour also suggested the baron himself had sought refuge from the battles above in the dugeons below.
A secret door in the Ogre revealed stairs carved in rock decsceing into the earth. These led to an open cavern, the lair of strange one-eyed creature, a Nothic, that died at the party's hand. Beyon da set of doors they found a large hall, the end of which was obscured by waving blood red tapestries shielding a green light beyond.
