Session 60: Stranger Things

General Summary

The two fomorians lumbered around their cavern, giving Mi'tsuru'gi a perfect shot. He took it and battle commenced with the heroes attempting to draw out the evil fey giants. Although they were successful in the end, Fandle Penlock suffered greviously and Rivine was disfigured by the fomorian evil eye.
The giant's cave was wrecked from battle and criminally lackadasial housekeeping, so rummaging through the muck was none too fun. By the cookfire Jolee Bindo found a recently carved symbol of Tharizdun on the wall, a spiral with infinite spirals on its arms was smudged by ash and soot. Strange for Tharizdun, god of anihilation and the mythos, to be venerated here. The rest of the party found coin and treasure within the fomorian nests. Unfortunately a curse sullied the spoils.
Leaving the giants' cave the party ventured toward the great lake and using Rivine's newly found Boots of Levitation, the barbarian was able to push herself from the cave wall and float over to a just-visible gravel beach. Here the party found a magical boat and used it to circumnavigate the great lake, finding several 'beaches' leading to corridors deep, and rivers carrying out the lake's water to depths uknown.
Some of the corridors doubled back on themselves, other led to empty caves. A mated pair of cockatrice laired in one cavern, while hungry xorn were found in another. At the advice of Fandle, these elementals were left to their own and allowed to gorge on veins of crystal.
Back on the boat, the party rowed down a river outlet and into a lake-cave where the water drained from tiny fissures in the wall. An island occupied the centre-lake with countless shiny jems upon it. As Jolee stepped ashore a voice boomed across the cavern: "Fools! You are in a dead end. Flee back to the south and take the way the water enters or stay here and die..." Rivlets appeared on the water's surface heraldeding aquatic creatures heading toward the isle, and the companions.
