Session 7: The Fallen Meteorite Report

General Summary

Jaque introduces himself and his companions to the party. Eldric then steps forward, presenting himself along with his two fellows: Fizzlepop, the enigmatic gnome inventor, and an excitable halfling scout. As the introductions wrap up, the conversation quickly shifts to a heavy topic – the recent genocide. Emotions run high, leading to a heated argument about allegiances, which escalates into a tense standoff as everyone tries to ascertain who can be trusted. Despite the friction, a minor compromise is reached, and they decide their best course of action is to investigate the meteorite. Their journey soon leads them to a ferocious Aeorian Absorber, a creature transformed by the Stone's power. It attacks relentlessly, but the party manages to defeat it. Pressing onward, they encounter an expansive bog teeming with rapidly evolving animals. Among the bizarre sights are bugs as large as wolves or lions and snails with shells made of assorted bones.
The party's progress is halted by a swamp blocking their path in every direction, with small patches of land offering a precarious route across. Thoralf spots a moving beast in the water, sparking a debate about the safest way to proceed. Fizzlepop suggests using one of his newly created bombs to eliminate the threat. Jaque volunteers for the risky task, taking the bomb and positioning himself on one of the small land patches.
Jaque casts the Earth Tremor spell to provoke the creature, and as it lunges out of the water, he swiftly pulls the pin and hurls the bomb into the crocodile’s open jaws. In a flash, he casts Misty Step, vanishing just as the crocodile's mouth snaps shut and the bomb detonates, obliterating the beast.
With the path now clear, the party continues onward until they reach a massive clearing. There, they behold an awe-inspiring sight: an Altisaur, a colossal beast standing 150 feet tall, with stones embedded in its tail, calmly foraging for food. Deciding they need to rest before tackling this new challenge, the party settles down, ready to continue their journey later.
