The Brezh Hospice

The Brezh Hospice is the cleanest, well lit place in the Underdeck. It's small, comprising of a waiting area, a chapel, a medical unit, and 10 storage rooms that have been converted to match the suites in the cabins of the ship above. They're small, single-person rooms with a bed, bathing facilities, and a small entertainment center.   The Hospice resembles most of the upper decks of the ship, save for it's stillness. It lacks the verve and life found in other areas of the Comet, and serves as a place of quiet contemplation. Very few people come down here, save for those that have business.   Though it is part of the Brezh territory, very few Brezh, either as insectoids or in occupied bodies are ever seen in the Hospice. Cultists serve as attendants and medical staff, and the Brezh only enter after a patient has died, or if a patient has specifically requested death by the Brezh.

Purpose / Function

The Brezh Hospice serves as a waypoint between life and death. It gives people a chance to die in peace, and for people to share in the peaceful last moments of their loved ones. Though it is operated by the Brezh and their strange Cultists. Those who come to the Brezh without medical training are given menial tasks until they can be trained in counselling, patient care, or pharmacology.   Any of these services are available for any guest or resident of the Comet, but few take advantage of it. In times of emergency, the Brezh cultists often provide medical support to the Comet's infirmary.

Alterations

One storage bay has been converted to the Hospice. Ten smaller storage rooms have been converted to guest cabins, equipped with all the upper deck amenities. Two additional storage rooms have been converted for more practical uses - one has a full service medical suite, and can serve as a backup infirmary in emergencies.   The other is a small, denominational chapel. Holy symbols and vestments are available for any priest or person of faith who may come requiring the sanctity of the chapel. The Brezh do not interfere, other than to refresh supplies. The Brezh have no religion of their own, and no need for it, but they respect the customs of other species. The Brezh who have possessed bodies comprehend the concept and need for religion on an intellectual level, but do not participate in the religions of their bodies (and are often excommunicated from those practices).   The rest of the bay has been converted to a waiting area. It has no one unified theme to it's design, and is instead made of all of the lost and unwanted furniture that has made it's way down to waste reclamation. Chairs, tables, lighting, and even toys and reading materials. There are viewing screens that stream live performances from the entertainments on the Comet, and sports stream, and even recorded shows that are available on demand.
