Hieratic (Hi-Ra-Tik)
A mainly pictoral language closely related to the Red Tongue of the Hells. Whilst it used to be the main language used in the region, a rapid shift occurred after The Rise of Man. Now, the language is all but dead, surviving in fragments only in historical accounts and some small tribes living on the outskirts of society.
Writing System
Hieratic is expressed through a series of pictograms - Hieroglyphs - that each express a singular, specific idea. As a result, learning this language's writing system is prohibitively difficult. There is likely nobody left alive that has a fully comprehensive grasp of it.
